Positive Behaviour for Learning During week 5, our PBL focus will be about how to be respectful, responsible and perform our personal best when playing on concrete areas. Students will recognise the importance of being in the correct areas with teacher supervision when playing throughout the day. Accessing Literacy Pro

ABPS students in Years 3-6 have commenced using the Literacy Pro Program. Literacy Pro is a web-based reading program designed to encourage students to read texts matched to their abilities, allowing them to gain reading practice and build comprehension skills. The program uses popular books, including a range of fiction and non-fiction titles from major children's publishers that are available in our school library. Outstanding Coding Projects

Our Stage 2 Students have been learning to use SCRATCH, a graphical/blockly programming language, to demonstrate their understanding of how erosion has effected various landforms. A particularly outstanding project was submitted by Luke (Year 4). You can try it out here. 2018 Resource Allocation Model funding

In October 2017, all NSW public schools will receive a 2018 Planned School Budget Allocation Report. The report will assist with the management of the total budget delivered to schools through the Resource Allocation Model (RAM). The Resource Allocation Model (RAM) methodology distributes funding based on the individual needs of students and schools. This gives schools greater flexibility to make local decisions. Congratulations Arowen on having your artwork selected to be displayed as part of Operation Art. Every year schools across New South Wales are invited to participate in Operation Art, an initiative of The Children's Hospital at Westmead in association with the New South Wales Department of Education. The Operation Art program provides a forum for schools and students to demonstrate their visual arts achievements through exhibitions at the Armory Gallery, Sydney Olympic Park and the Art Gallery of New South Wales.... NDIS continues its roll out across NSW

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) started in NSW in July 2016, rolling out across half of the state. The rollout for the rest of NSW started on 1 July 2017 and the NDIS will be fully rolled out by mid 2018. The NSW government is writing to the families of children and young people with disability who currently receive disability supports in the rollout areas to advise how and when they will enter the NDIS. NAPLAN Online School readiness test

NSW schools will participate in the NAPLAN Online School Readiness Test from 14 August to 22 September. There is a lot of information for schools, students and parents on the NAPLAN Online transition website. The school readiness test is a ‘practice run' for schools to assess their technology as we prepare to transition to NAPLAN Online. Touch Team

Boys Touch Football Games

On Monday the 26th of June our Boys Touch Football team travelled to Chertsey Public School to play Round 2 of the knockout. They were victorious in winning this game with a score of 9-2. This meant that the boys stayed on to verse Gosford East's team for Round 3. We also took out a win in this game with a score of 8-1. The boys showed excellent team skills, working together to devise tactics while playing and taking on advice from the sideline.
